The Tour 2023
Improvements to The Tour include breaking up the 10 month tournament into 2 rounds. The top 8 players from either round will go to the Finals. Another great change is that players will play more with no interruptions from defaults and there will be greater movement between players with the improved point system. More information below.
You’ll still get to play the annual Street Paddle Tournaments (Singles & Doubles) and have an opportunity to win a spot in the Golden Ticket, a qualifying round of The Tour.
-Rankings from last year will continue for this year however there will be different divisions. There will be 25-32 players per division.
-The point system has changed to create more fluidity between players. Last year many people found themselves in the same group for a few months. This has been addressed by assigning each group different points. Each group will have 4 specific points allotted for each player.
For example:
Group A – points assigned are: 50, 45, 40, 35
Player with the 1st best result gets 50
Player with the 2nd best result – 45 points
Player with 3rd best result – 40
Player with the 4th best result – 35
Group B – points assigned are: 49,44,39,34
Player with the 1st best result – 49
Player with the 2nd best result – 44
Player with 3rd best result – 39
Player with 4th best result – 34
Group C – points assigned are 48,43,38, 33 and so forth.
The Tour has 2 rounds:
Round 1 Winter and Round 2 Summer
-Each round is 3 months long and you will play 7 rounds every 2 weeks.
-You have from Tuesday – Sunday to complete your match.
-You must schedule your match or you will be substituted out.
There will be no defaults! If a player cannot play, a substitute will play. Points will be awarded to the 3 players in the group who are competing.
8 top players from either Round 1 or 2 will go to the Finals
