Format
Format – This is a two-part Tournament with an initial Round Robin followed by a single elimination playoff format with 4 divisions for men and women .

- Round Robin
- All Players will be seeded and assigned a group by a committee with following criteria listed in order of importance:
- Based on past results of any Singles Tournament in the last 2 years.
- General committee view and perception of skill level.
- The committee will be assembled from local players by invitation or request established by street paddle team.
- All Players in each group will play a 2 out of 3 set match with a 3rd set 10 point tie breaker against each player in group.
- The top two Players from each group will progress to the bracket A- Playoffs with the following criteria listed in order of importance:
- Win/Loss Matches.
- Win/Loss Sets.
- Win/Loss Games.
- In the case of a tie the heads-up match will determine who passes thru to playoffs.
- * In the case of a Group of 5 players the following rules will apply:
- The top THREE Players from each group will progress to the bracket A- Playoffs with the following criteria listed in order of importance:
- Win/Loss Matches.
- Win/Loss Sets.
- Win/Loss Games.
- In the case of a tie the heads-up match will determine who passes thru to playoffs.
- The players that are promoted into the A -Draw will be assigned points in the following manner to determine seeding:
- The Worst Win result will be removed from the players record. For example, if a player won 3 matches and lost one – there record will be 2 wins and 1 loss for the seeding calculation in the main draw.
- The top THREE Players from each group will progress to the bracket A- Playoffs with the following criteria listed in order of importance:
- The Bottom two players will play a from each group will progress to the bracket B – Playoffs.
- All Players will be seeded and assigned a group by a committee with following criteria listed in order of importance:

- All Players will be seeded based on their results from the Round Robin with the following criteria listed in order of importance:
- Best Win/Loss match differential will be used to determine ranking
- In case of a Win/Loss Tie: Set and Game Differential will determine Ranking.
- In the case Players have same Win/Loss matches and Games, the original ranking will determine seed
- Playoffs will be single elimination – playing 2 out of 3 sets with a 10 point tie breaker in the third set.
- Playoffs – Semis and Finals – will be 2 out of 3 sets played out. With a 7 point tie breaker in 3rd set at 6 all.
- All Players will be seeded based on their results from the Round Robin with the following criteria listed in order of importance:

Initial Seeding
- Each participant will be rated by the street Paddle Team committee based on the following criteria (in order of importance):

- Past S.P. tournament results.
- Perceived skill level.
- Time of registration.
Schedule of Play
- The Tournament will be played over the course of 4 weeks
- Round Robin: Monday January 23rd to Sunday February 12th.
- Championship Elimination Draw: Saturday February 18th and Sunday February 19th.
- Round Robin
- Each player will be assigned a group with 3 other players and given there contact information.
- Each player will have 3 weeks to schedule their 3 matches.
- The player who initiates contact will have the priority of schedule in case of a conflict.
- Matches are played in any order (schedule your matches as soon as you can)
- Players can play in any Paddle Tennis Court they agree to.
- Playoffs
- All matches will be played at the Venice Beach Courts (1900 Ocean Front Walk).
- Times and Court assignments for each round will be announced on Thursday February 16th via email along with the Draw.
- Courts are reserved by Street Paddle.
- All Players will need to check in 15 minutes prior to their match at registration desk.
- Registration Desk location will be announced on February 16th via email along with draws.
- If any player is not checked in 15 Minutes Prior to match schedule start they will be Defaulted.
Score Reporting
- Round Robin:
- All Player are responsible to send an email to [email protected] with the result and score of the match played in the Round Robin portion of tournament.
- We recommend reporting scores as soon as matches are played so players do not forget score.
- All results must be communicated to Street Paddle before Tuesday February 14th.
- if players do not report score by the 14th S.P. will assign a loss for both players at 0-0.
- All Player are responsible to send an email to [email protected] with the result and score of the match played in the Round Robin portion of tournament.
- Playoffs:
- The winning player must report score to registration desk within 5 minutes of the end of match.
- If score is not reported the match will result in a default and both players will be eliminated.
- The winning player must report score to registration desk within 5 minutes of the end of match.
Conflict resolution and Code of conduct
- Round Robin:
- All calls will be determined by each player on their respective sides.
- In case of repeated issues please STOP PLAY and contact street paddle via phone (646)528-4634 or email : [email protected]
- All players must behave in accordance with our code of conduct.
- Any inappropriate behavior will result in immediate suspension from the tournament.
- If a player does not show up to a match at an agreed upon time he will be suspended from Tournament.
- Playoffs:
- S.P. will provide Court monitors during the event. Court monitors will be walking around the courts during match play.
- a. Court monitors will have an official T-shirt so they can be recognized.
- All calls will be determined by each player on their respective sides.
- In case of repeated issues please STOP PLAY and go to registration desk to request a court monitor.
- All players must behave in accordance with our code of conduct.
- Any inappropriate behavior will result in immediate suspension from the tournament.
- If any player is not checked in 15 minutes prior to start of match they will be defaulted. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- S.P. will provide Court monitors during the event. Court monitors will be walking around the courts during match play.
Cancellations and Refund Policy
- All Sales are final and non-refundable.
- If you are unable to participate for any reason and give 3 day notice prior to the start of the tourney you will have a credit S.P. to either use for a future Tourney, Tour, Lessons or in our shop.
